Living Nativity in Kingsport
After visiting the Holy Land and being inspired by Christ’s birthplace, Saint Francis of Assisi created the first “living” Nativity in 1223. Since then, it has become quite a tradition throughout Europe and the United States. In keeping with the sacred tradition, Grace Point Fellowship in cooperation with LampLight Theatre and Creation Kingdom Zoo will present “Road to Bethlehem” (a living Nativity) at 130 VFW Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
Before embarking on the “walk through” spectacular, guests will meet in the Christmas Gathering Place. Here you can enjoy seasonal refreshments including baked goodies, hot chocolate, and holiday cider. Should you have special assistance, our staff will try their best to meet those needs. Once leaving the Christmas Gathering Place, patrons will step back in time to the city of Bethlehem to the events leading up to the Birth of Christ. The “Road to Bethlehem” living nativity will begin with “The Annunciation” as the angel appeared to Mary. Scenes will also include “Mary and Joseph’s Journey, “Shepherds and their Flocks”, “The Magi”, “Tax Collecting”, and “The Crowded Inn”. Roman Guards will patrol the streets as beggars, merchants, and townspeople greet visitors. The “walk-through” will culminate at the Nativity with the Birth of Christ. Live animals including horses, donkeys, and camels will be seen throughout the “walk-through” attraction.
Don’t miss this miraculous and inspiring evening as you celebrate this special Christmas with your family and friends. This three-day event will take place December 9-11 (Friday through Sunday) from 6PM to 9PM at the Grace Point Fellowship property at 130 VFW Road, Kingsport, TN 37660. The event is FREE, but donations are accepted.
