2026 Fall season is upon us and what better way to celebrate than at LampLight Theatre’s “Folk Fest and Shindig.” Come and usher in the fall season as we celebrate the mountain heritage of east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. On Saturday, September 26th, revisit the old days and enjoy local traditions on Broad Street in Historic downtown Kingsport.
Over 60 Arts and Crafts booths will be set up by local artisans, crafters and churches. Candles, jewelry, wreaths, and seasonal handmade crafts will be for sale.
All day long, good “vittles” will be on hand. Food Trucks will be on site, and vendors will be selling home-cooked food including pinto beans and cornbread. Make sure you bring a good appetite with you.
Entertainment for all ages will be going on all day as well. For the kids, there will be a special area with face painting, and a bounce house & dunking tank. All ages will want to bring their chairs, pull up to our outdoor stage, and listen to the sweet melodies of our local talent Then in true “Gaither Homecoming” sing-along fashion with old and new gospel favorites, southern gospel performers will be singing at our Down-Home Jamboree. The first performance will be on Saturday at 7:00 inside Lamplight Theatre. The second opportunity will be Sunday, Sept 27th 3 pm. A love offering will be taken at both performances. Doors will open on Sunday one hour prior to the performance. “Folk Fest and Shindig” runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, Sept 26th. The admission for the festival is FREE.
